So difficult to grasp the passage of time as we live our lives. It seems like yesterday that Ray would bring his mom and his date (Ann) to the old Kocurek homeplace - a small family farm where I grew up. The purpose was to make home cranked ice cream and laugh - talk and just be.. I recall joining Ray and Aunt Helen on a trip to Laredo with my mom and dad. How exciting to watch the vendor in front of the market in Nuevo Laredo have his little bird pull a paper out of a box with my fortune on it... Ray got fitted for custom made boots, my dad bought a ring from a vendor and on the way home, that 'golden' ring was turning his finger green and the lovely stone blew out of the setting. What precious memories. He was there at SSCM grade school when I got into trouble. He worked at 'Stanley's' - a Sinclair station just up the street from his home. We got together at least once a year for a wonderful meal and got to catch up on the family.. Last visit was in Round Rock with Ray, Judy, Les and Gabby, and myself. It was like we last saw each other just 10 minutes before... Maybe that is what I have to look forward to when we find each other in the heavenly light. I hope so. Not sure if I will be up to being with you guys at the funeral home. Harder to get out lately for me. I can assure you that I love you all so much and that I know you are family and will always be. God be with you all at this time. May his Angels come to bring you Peace and understanding.
