I am Esteban's granddaughter, and still after almost 2 years I am still grieving. My grandfather passed away just at the verge of me becoming the teenager I am right now. He died when I was twelve, and on feb 18th of next year I will be 15. It's devastating that I will never get to talk to him about my sisters and I growing older. Esteban was such a caring person and truly brought my childhood to life, some of my favorite memories were playing with him. There was one time I remember pretty vividly. He had taken us to McDonald's and then to the park nearby. He had my littlest sister in one hand, and in the other he was holding hands with my other sister. I ran off to the playscape and my grandpa placed my two sisters on with me. He then vanished (not really, looking back on it he just bent down away from our vision), and out of nowhere he jumped up and scared us. The laughter I heard that day could never be matched. That was one of my favorite moments with him. Other than that, he was just an insanely supportive, loving , and caring being. I will forever love him and be grateful for all he's done for my family and I.
