Obituary of James Kellye Garza

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

James K. Garza “Jimmy”, 41, of Pflugerville ,TX was called home to his mother's loving arms on Sunday, October 4th, 2020 after a courageous fight with cancer. Jimmy was Born on April 23rd, 1979 to Patricia Chapa and Jerry Garza in Austin TX. He is preceded in death by his Mother: Patricia Chapa Medina and Grandmothers: Antonia Osborn and Christine M. Garza. He is survived by his Father: Jerry Garza, Dad: Nicholas Medina (Tracy), Brothers: Alfonso Garza, Christopher Chapa (Kelly), Steven Rios, Michael Medina, Sister: Mariah Medina, Nieces & Nephews whom he loved very much along with his Aunts, Uncles and many cousins (many of whom he called sister & brother).

Throughout his 41 years, Jimmy made countless friends who quickly became family. He touched so many people's lives in many ways. His presence alway lit up the room with his luminous energy, his great big smile, and a laugh you could never forget. We could always count on him to keep us entertained with his witty sense of humor and quick comebacks, if you don't believe me go visit his facebook page, Rev. James “KeepItReal” Garza. He was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and The Texas Longhorns. You could find him tailgating with his family and friends or at his favorite neighborhood bars. There are no words to explain how lucky we all were to have him in our life, and we will celebrate his life for many years to come. Jimmy was a free spirit and lived his life on his own terms. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

The family would like to give their sincerest gratitude to the wonderful Doctors, Nurses and Staff on the 5th and 7th floor at Ascension-Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas for their kindness and compassion not only to Jimmy but the family as well. Thank you.
