Obituary of Jack Vernon Brown

Jack was born on September 28, 1955, in Austin, Texas to General Jackson Brown and Donna Jacobs Brown. He went home peacefully to Jesus in Heaven on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.

He grew up in Austin in the Shoal Creek/Hancock area with ten neighborhood boys where they had many adventures together. Cars were a true passion and pastime of his. He loved building/racing cars, and especially loved his 1966 Blue Nova Sundown.

As a young boy, he began working as a paper boy and then later in life became a branch manager for the Austin American Statesman. He went on to become a certified ASE mechanic and he worked at Mueller Airport. His lifelong career to the end was Brown’s Floral. He owned and operated the flower shop with his wife, Sandy, where they worked side by side for over two decades.

Jack was preceded in death by his dad, General Jackson Brown.

He is survived by his mother, Donna Brown; wife, Sandy Brown; Brother and Sister-in-law, Terri and Brenda Brown, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Elaine Brown. Jack is also survived by precious nieces, nephews, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service is planned for  Sunday, August 2, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Gethsemane Lutheran Church.

Services entrusted to Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home.
