It doesn't seem to be real. Seems like just yesterday the two of us were talking at my front door. Then there was that day you called and we talked and talked. Still trying to figure out why. Believe the good lord had other plans as to why he took a good man at a young age. You will be truly missed. Until we meet again.

I, like Guy Giesen, was one of the 10 neighborhood boys. I lived 2 housed down from Jack. I guess we became friends as soon as our parents allowed us to go out and play. Jack's house was centrally located so it was the natural meeting place. Like Guy, I remember most of those things we did plus playing hide and go seek, day long games of Monopoly, street football and fishing and messing around in Shoal Creek. I'd call Jack to have him deliver flowers to my mom and he'd make that his last stop and he'd talk to mom and when done he go and visit his mom. That was just Jack, he was a very caring person. Oh, we did some other things that we can't put down in writing. A couple of weeks before Jack left us, Guy, Jack, Terri and I (with Sandy listening and laughing and wondering how we were still alive) met at Terri's house and went over so many of our escapades. I think we all enjoyed those hours reminiscing although eyes were watering with laughter and sadness. When Jan and I moved to Midland, Jack came up to visit us. That's the kind of friend he was. We all have great memories of Jack and should cherish all of them. You are missed buddy but someday we'll all be back together again!

I met Jack through his brother Terri back in the early seventies. Like the others there were so many fun memories with fishing and deer hunting trips. Nobody could make me laugh and smile like Jack, the entertainment never stopped. You will be so dearly missed by all of your family and friends.

Sandy, Jack lucky to have found you, married you & etc. Thank you being a fabulous wife & angel to Jack. Sympathies & prayers to y’all. My memories of Jack began when he started dating, marrying & etc with my sister Valery Dawson-Brown at MAC. Jack, you do not realize how much I appreciated & love you for there when she passed in 1984. I was very blessed to have you as my brother in law. He was generous to all who knew him, caring, & etc. Jack, thank you for letting me know what’s up.

I can't remember what year it was but it was long ago. He was a dear friend that I cherished deeply. There wasn't anything that I asked for that he and Sandy couldn't do for me. Before the flower shop street racing down Grover Ave. Spent many hours at the Brown house. A true friend who will be forever in my heart. Love You Jack Darla Denton Rapier

I have known Jack since 1980. Hunted with him in Texas and Colorado. Worked with him at Trafton and Son tile shop. Introduced him to the Big City of Walburg Texas. Friends forever. You will be missed.( Just so the public is aware, don’t hit his Skeeter Bass boat with your vehicle) Love you always!

Jack, I was blessed to be “One of the 10 Neighborhood Boys” and your Friend for Life. As I sit here and go down Memory Lane I remember backyard camp outs, Saturday morning wrestling on TV while eating frozen Red Barron Pizza for breakfast. The trips to Highland Park Pharmacy Soda Fountain, early morning paper routes and 6:00 AM stops at the Tottle House. Pay Day always meant a “Hot Plate” from La Fiesta served up by Lee or Fred, and so much more. Later there were motorcycles, hunting and fishing and of course your cars.
You always had my back even after we grew up. I always forgot to order those “Special Occasion” flowers but even on Valentines Day you came through with the most beautiful bouquets because that’s what “Friends” do.
Love Ya Man

Jack, his title "THE TUT HINTER" kinda stuck with him as long as I've known him. What a guy, one good fishing & hunting buddy always ready to go. I still cannot believe your gone but I know you you are out doing something right now. I told you that day at Terry's when Carla and I were going to leave that I would not say two words to you. One word starts with a G and the other ends with a y so until we meet again someday rest up buddy me and you are going to do it all over again.

I worked at the Flower Shop as a drlivery driver for 8 years. In that time I came to be very close with Jack, his wife Sandy, and his family. Being a Minnesota native, I had no family in Austin and Jack was like an uncle to me. I have so many great memories of my 8 years in that little shop on Avenue A, and I am so grateful to Jack, Sandy, and the Browns for bringing me into the fold all those years! I'll miss you, Jack. Thanks for everything you ever did for me, as a friend, a mentor, a surrogate uncle, and an employer! I hope to see you again, someday, West Of The Great Divide.
