Jesse Pena Gomez, 83, of Round Rock, Texas passed away on July 23, 2018 in his home where he felt most comfort and peace. Jesse was born in Round Rock, Texas to Elias and Gregoria Gomez on July 30, 1934. He earned an associate's degree from Texas A & M in Business Management. He worked as a Master Wood Finisher for Woodward Inc. in Austin Texas for 14 years, with the title of Superintendent. He continued on in his profession by working at Novikoff, Inc. in Ft. Worth Texas for 20 years and 6 years with Curtis Mathis. He retired from Wood Finishing and moved back to Round Rock. He began working part time for H.E.B Grocery store for 10 years. He enjoyed spending many celebrations with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved playing Texas Lotto, swimming, and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed listening and dancing to traditional Tejano music. "Darle Shine, vamos al Chaparral Club and Hills Cafe"..... Overall his number one passion was sharing his family history stories and his life experiences. Over, and Over and over again!. He had a strong Catholic faith and was involved in his church community as a pastoral council member. Jesse is survived by his beautiful and loving wife, Carmen Perez Gomez. His 5 children, Daniel P. Gomez, Benjamin P. Gomez (Bertha), Melinda Enriquez (Leo), Melissa Jones (Charles), and Jeanna P. Gomez. 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his eldest son Jimmy P. Gomez (Maria). Visitation will be held at Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home, 607 E. Anderson Ln. Austin, Texas 78752 on Thursday July 26, 2018 from 3:00pm-8:00pm, with Rosary beginning at 6:00pm. Flowers can be sent to Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at St. Williams Catholic Church, 620 Round Rock West Drive, Round Rock, TX 78681 on Friday July 27, 2018 at 10am. Burial will follow at Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Dr. Austin, TX 78731. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Encompass Home Health Care, specifically Melissa, Stephen, Alonzo and Yolanda. Compassus Hospice Care, specially Mo for all her compassion for our dad. We remember our dad for his dedication to always making sure we as his children were successful in every avenue of our lives. We love you, miss you and you will forever be in our hearts.
