It has almost been a year since Raul left this earthly world, and as I sit here and look around my living room I am reminded of how Raul was always sharing his blessing with others. I am sitting in a chair, and looking at a beautiful vase, and corner shelf that he practically gave away from a storage sale that I purched from him and the vase he just gave to me. He was blessed with all that furniture, and he was sharing with others. He was such a gentle man.

He was such a light and intended to bring joy to everyone he met! I’ll always cherish our laughs over the animals. He’s terribly missed.

Q: How did you meet Raul?
A: I worked with Raul at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. We struck up a friendship on the topic of hunting (of all things!), and through these conversations I learned that he was an avid lover of wildlife. We shared photos of fawns and deer in our yards, and I remember him showing me a birthday cake he had made for one of his favorites. This touched me so much--his enthusiasm and that spark he had. I'm so sorry he has passed away, and hope he did not suffer so terribly.

This world lost one of it's brightest lights and heaven gained a beautiful soul. I still remember the last time we spoke; as if it had been just the other day and not 8 years ago. I thank you for all the laughs and memories made. You had a lasting impact on me and I thank you for helping me get back my smile. I'm not sure if you really knew that then but that just credits to how good your heart was to everyone. Until we meet again.

Raul showed me some of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in my life. Sunsets, fishing spots, running creeks that were crystal clear and baby farm animals. I'm forever grateful to God for putting us in each others paths to meet. Raul was meant to be in my life to show me the beauty of life even when I could not see it myself. He will forever be loved and missed by me.
My deepest condolences to his family.
Love Always,
Stacey
