Obituary of Heather Donette Eagle
Should you walk past any homeless person or anyone down on his or her luck without acknowledging her or him, please reconsider your choices, and remember Heather, who entered eternal life on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, after a brief, yet valiant battle with cancer. Heather’s gifts to all were her generous soul and smile, much like the sun, that lit any room and warmed the hearts of all she met.
Heather is survived by her children, Lucas and Ezra Eagle; husband, Matthew Eagle; mother, Sondra and step-father Robert Payne; father, Kent McClendon, brother, Quirt (Heather’s “My Bubba”) McClendon (wife Lindsey and special little niece Rydley, whom Heather wanted to be the “greatest aunt in the world!”; grandfather, Jimmie C. Harrod; Aunt Janis Yuhas (husband Ron; dearest nephews, Jarrod and Connor Yuhas; Great-Aunt Belane Harrod; cousins, Regina Wilbanks (husband, Randy); Wood Harrod, Jr.; Gigi Krammer (husband, Jerry); Aunt Vickie and Uncle Cole McClendon; Aunt Kelly Richardson (son, Allen); cousins, Tyrell McClendon (wife Brandi and children); Chasity McClendon (and children}; Kirby Ham (husband, Robert and children) ; mother-in-law Sharron (husband, Duane) Allen; father-in-law David Eagle, and many, many amazing friends who shared this life with Heather.
Relatives welcoming Heather’s Heavenly Entry include the following magnificent souls:
Great-Grandparents Jim and Ruby Harrod and Kizzie and George K. Brown, grandmother Betty Harrod, Grandparents Sue and Gene McClendon, precious uncles Mike and Mitchell Harrod, Uncle Wood Harrod, Aunt Lisa Brown Smith, Uncle George M. Brown, Aunt Sheila Sisk, Uncle David Richardson, and a host of other family angels.
Dr. Linsey Mitchell Scherrer and Dr. Janet Tu of Houston walked through fire to help Heather during the past six weeks, and Heather’s family thanks each of these doctors who went out of their way to help her.
Special thanks to Pastor Pat Traxlor of Brush Country Cowboy Church who ensured Heather was baptized on a glorious day with her dad, Lisa and Mike.
Although Heather did not make her ninety-ninth-birthday goal as she had hoped, her magnanimous spirit lives on in her children, Lucas and Ezra, family, and extended family of friends (Heather never knew any strangers). So each year on your birthday, please celebrate Heather and your life by taking time to walk outside, revel in the moment, gaze at God’s handiwork of nature – stars, flowers, hills, horned lizards (she was so like her Great-Papa Jim and these little” lizardly” distractions found inside Heather’s desks prompted a few meetings with her elementary principal),MARVEL at the bigger pictures such as the Grand Canyon, and love and live life to the fullest…each day…every second. See the sun and never forget His blessings.
A CELEBRATION of LIFE for Heather McClendon Eagle will be held Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the Brush Country Cowboy Church in Live Oak County (1417 I-37, George West, Tx) with a viewing beginning at 9 a.m., service at 10 a.m., followed by Heather’s final resting place at Oakville Cemetery. In honor of Heather's sunny, positive disposition, please consider wearing a tribute to her in yellow in the form of an accessory or clothing. Pallbearers are David Dixon, Renee Hunt, Mike Guresky, Tryel McClendon, Robert Payne and Jarrod Yuhas. Honorary pallbearers are Nathan Besson Kuba, Wesley Harris and Randall Rosebrock.
