Obituary of Mayme Lou Smathers

Mayme Lou Smathers was born May 28, 1937, in Brady, Texas.  The daughter of Joe & Edna Holloway. She passed away on November 25, 2022, in Colbert, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Smathers and her second husband Bruce McEachran.

 

She is survived by her brother Al Holloway and wife Deanna Holloway, her two sons Robert Smathers and wife Leslie Smathers, Ken Smathers and wife Cindy Smathers, her step son Robert McEachran and wife Naomi McEachran, her step daughters Bert Anderson and husband Curtis Garis, Thelma McDonald and husband Dusty McDonald and as well as 7 Grand and step Grandchildren (plus 5 spouses), 19 great Grand and step-Grandchildren.

 

Mayme loved fishing and boating in Lake LBJ, being with her T.O.P.S. friends, weekends were spent playing dominos or cards with neighbors and friends.  Mayme would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need and was always available to help a friend.  She was a member of T.O.P.S. and made many lifelong friends who belonged to that organization. In her later years she spent the days doing puzzles.

 

Visitation and fellowship will be at Austin Peel & Son on Monday, December 5, 2022, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Grave side services will be held in Valley Spring, Texas the next day at 2:00 p.m.
