When I met Tim we were in a restaurant waiting for his daughters to be done at the hair salon. I suggested we get dessert first, not knowing he had a sweet tooth a mile long. By the time the girls got the the restaurant we had appetizers waiting for them and had each had a dessert.

Tim also introduced me to my favorite sport, Cricket. He and I enjoyed watching the matches together.

Tim was one of the smartest and most professional individuals that I have ever known. He was a great mentor and taught me endless amounts about banking and business in general. Tim was always willing to help and did whatever it took to make sure that the right thing was done. In fact, our last conversation was him "schooling" me as to why he had a certain approach when it came to the investments in a particular account. We had that conversation early in the afternoon, by the evening I called him back to simply let him know he was correct. Tim will not only be missed because of his business acumen but also because of his sense of humor and knowledge. Tim was truly one of a kind and will always have a place in my memory as a great business man and more importantly a great friend.

To the Family of Tim O’Neil, I had the very good fortune and privilege of being Tim’s boss and working with him on a daily basis for the past 4 years at Herring Bank in Amarillo. Tim’s bank family was shocked and deeply saddened to receive the news of his passing over the weekend. Tim was a true professional in every sense of the word. He was an extremely experienced investment officer with exceptional knowledge in managing our client portfolios. Among so many of Tim’s great qualities, we will fondly remember his sense of humor, his attention to detail, his knowledge of history and obscure facts and his thorough proficiency of the English language. Tim introduced me to rugby at the NYAC. He suggested right wing. To this day I can picture turning and seeing Tim He was throwing the ball to me. My 1st try. That’s Tim, he always looked after people. He truly was an extraordinary man and easily loved by all. Lots & lots of prayers for you and your family

I'm blessed to have known Tim for more than a decade through the Princeton Rugby alumni connection. Tim blew all of our minds by competing in matches well into his 60s. But even more so, we value Tim for his friendship. It's not going to be the same without him, but we'll treasure the memories forever.
