We are very sorry to hear of this sad news. Our family lived next door for almost 20 years. It was so touching to read this beautiful tribute to a wonderful person. We knew some of Bob’s accomplishments but not the full picture. He wasn’t a man to boast. He was a man to always offer a hand to help a neighbor. Carl and Bob had a beautiful, park like yard. Guests to our home alway commented on its beauty. The inside was even more grand. But never stuffy, always welcoming. Bob was so gracious in sharing information about their beautiful art collections from their travels. From his explanation in the layering of water colors, the intricate details of a new paperweight, to the cheerful details of the lemons on the plaques at their front door, Bob shared his enthusiasm for art with us all. My favorite piece in their home was one painted by Bob, The Walls of Jericho. He was very talented. I loved the classical music always playing in the background of their home- but could never coax him into playing his lovely piano. He and Carl shared their plant cuttings for my yard. I learned so much about plants from them both. Bob shared so much of his talents and gifts. What an incredible life. We are so blessed to have been their neighbors. A tree is a perfect tribute and we will be planting one in his honor. My mom (from Indiana) who visited with Bob when she came to Texas also sends her sincere condolences to Carl and all his neighbors and friends. She will bake his favorite strawberry rhubarb pie in his honor this next summer.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Carl and Bob’s dear friends. May your memories bring you comfort.
Love, Connie & Shane Hawkins

Sue and I were saddened by the passing of Bob White.
Sue and I were lucky enough to be invited to give a presentation for the Texas PCA group , Bob and Carl graciously invited us to stay with them for few days before the meeting, it was during this time that we got to know the couple more than just talking about paperweights.
Bob was an extremely kind and sensitive man who will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.
Rest in Peace Bob!
