Obituary of DeShawn Melvin-Calvin Williams

DeShawn Melvin Calvin Williams was born October 20th, 1967 to Johnnie and Georgia Mae Williams in Austin Texas. He was their third child. He grew up in Del Valle Texas, and graduated from Del Valle high school. He decided to move to California, and live his life there for eighteen years.

DeShawn had a very big heart, was very smart and talented in so many ways. He loved to sing, write music and poetry, and challenge anyone on intellect. He became a proud father in 2005 to a beautiful baby girl named Kennedi Denae Williams - in his words, he referred to her as "my heart and joy".

DeShawn was preceeded in death by both parents, and his big brother, Johnnie "Teenie". He is survived by siblings, Mary "Ann", Diane, Ray Ray, Ashley, JB, and his only child Kennedi. Also a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home, 607 E. Anderson Ln., Austin, Texas. 

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, Texas.  

Our family extends sincere appreciation for all acts of condolences during our time of bereavement. Also we greatly want to thank all family and friends for their donations.
