Obituary of Danny Ray Alvarez

Our beloved Danny Ray Alvarez, age 48, was called to our Heavenly Father on Thursday, September 2, 2021.  He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry R. Montez; grandparents, Tomas and Epifania Garcia; his aunt Susie Castro, and uncles, Thomas Garcia and Louis Garcia.

Danny is survived by his mother, Mary E. Montez; his sisters, Angela Alvarez, Jessica Hernandez (Jason Alves), and Cynthia Hernandez; his nieces, Alyssa McDonald, Breanna Gonzales, Caitlyn Alves, Joscelyn Alves, Elianna Salazar; his nephew, OJ Yanez; his aunts and uncles, Josie Sifuentes (Joe), Delia Hernandez (Miguel), and Julia Figueroa (Roy); his uncle, Javier Castro; his aunt, Helen Garcia, and many other loving family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jason Alves, Pete Gonzales, Genaro Rodriguez, OJ Yanez, Joe Sifuentez, and Joey Sifuentez.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Javier Castro and Miguel Hernandez.

The family would like to extend gratitude to the staff of Austin Supported Living Center for their years of dedication to Danny's care.  May God bless and keep each of you and your families.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with Recitation of Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home 607 E. Anderson Ln., Austin, Texas.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at San Jose Catholic Church, 2435 Oak Crest Ave., Austin, Texas.  Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery (Shelter 4), 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas.

Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 Restrictions from the City of Austin,

capacity levels are restricted at funeral homes, churches, and cemeteries.

We politely request the continued use of face coverings in an effort to

help protect our community.   If you are ill or are concerned about the virus,

it is recommended that you not attend services.
