Our Beloved Brother Mike Cervantez and Husband, of Austin Texas,was called by Our Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 8, 2021, surrounded by His Wife Lydia Marie Cervantez, and Daughter Ja'Lyiah Margaret Faith Brown Cervantez, and Granddaughter, Destiny Marie Contreras.

Mike is survived by His Wife; Lydia Marie Cervantez; daughter Ja'lyiah Margaret Faith Brown Cervantez, and granddaughter; Destiny Marie Contreras: Sister's, Mary Ann Ramirez, Margarita Peña, Andrea Garcia & husband Johnny Garcia; Brothers; Joe Guerrero & wife Yolanda Guerrero, Andrew Guerrero, and Sammy Arocha & Wife Mary Ann Arocha. Eight Nephews and 10 nieces and many great-nephews and great-nieces.

Mike was preceded in death by his Father Miguel Cervantez, Mother Ramona Cervantez, Step Father Inez Guerrero Sr., and step Father Ignacio Arocha, Jr., and Brother's Felix Gauna, Frank Guerrero, Inez Guerrero, Sister Ofelia Cervantez Gonzales, Grandparents, Evaristo Afanador, Grandmother's Ysidira Afanador, Grandfather Pedro Cervantez & Grandmother Maria Cervantez, Nephew's Felix Gauna Jr., Peter Gauna, Joe Paz
and Ignacio Garcia III.

Viewing and Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 13th, 2021 at 10 at Austin-Peel & Son Funeral Home, 607 E. Anderson Ln, Austin, TX 78752. Committal Interment Services will follow in Assumption Cemetery located at  3650 S IH 35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78704. 

Mike Cervantez, age 75 of Austin, Texas was born on October 21, 1945 in San Marcos, Texas. He was called to heaven on Thursday, July 8, 2021.

Mike was a born-again Christian, Husband, brother, father, uncle, and friend. He was very reserved and observant of his surroundings. His faith in God was exceptionally strong.  His passion and his dedication were towards his daughter who he adored, and was very proud of, and was madly in love with his wife Lydia, the love of his life. Mike was very family-oriented, he loved to call his relatives to keep up with them.

The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to all the nurses and doctors who cared for Mike at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center, and Hospice and workers.
