Obituary of Patrick Hooper Jr.

Patrick,  “PJ” Hooper Jr. died peacefully in Austin, Texas  on April 11, 2021 at the age of 47.

Patrick is survived by his parents, mother, Vicky Hooper of San Antonio, Texas, father, Pat Hooper of Georgetown, Texas; handfasted wife, Jess Tucker of Austin Texas; son, Hadrian of Austin, Texas; sister, Honei Hooper Cook of Georgetown, Texas; and nephew Zach Yoke of Los Angeles, California; beloved friend, Brenda Wheeler of San Antonio, Texas; and, his best friend and honorary brother, Randy Lee of Hutto, Texas. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Dora Cruz of Houston, Texas, and his paternal grandparents Don and Ruth Hooper of The Plains, Ohio.

Patrick was born on March 21, 1974 in Houston, Texas to Pat and Vicky Hooper. He grew up in Georgetown Texas and Austin Texas. Patrick was a science fiction and fantasy enthusiast, an animal lover, gourmet cook, and an artist. Patrick’s love and fascination of his favorite comic book superhero, Superman was unmatched, and it explained his want to help others. He celebrated the birth of his son, Hadrian, in 2007, and fathered/mentored Hadrian into his early teens. Patrick passed on his pursuit of knowledge to his brilliant and loving son.

A funeral is scheduled for Saturday evening, visitation beginning at 4:00pm, services beginning at 5:00pm with a Celebration of Life ceremony led by Jess Tucker, and a Vigil prayer Service at 6:00pm at the Austin-Peel & Sons Funeral Home located at 607 E Anderson Ln, Austin, TX 78752. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Patrick’s life. Please wear appropriate PPE for the gathering.
