Obituary of Richard D. Hicks

Richard D. Kicks of Round Rock, Texas died March 6, 2021 at the sge of 83. He was born to D.C. Hicks and Julia Vernell Sumner Hicks. He was the baby out of ten children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters, wife April, and daughter, Carolyn Denise Hicks Hardy.

Survivors are his daughters, Pamela Linebrink (Allen), Cathy Blundell (Leslie), son, Richard D. Hicks, Jr. (Kathy); step daughter, Crystal Ziedler (Willie); sister, Letha Sosby; and ex-wife, Doris McCarty; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Richard was a golden glove boxer, played Junior High and High School football. He served in the Marine Corp and retired with Austin Fire Department.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 am with a Funeral Service to follow on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home, located at 607 E. Anderson Lane, Austin, Texas 78752. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
