Obituary of Dorothy Louise Sauceda
Sauceda, Dorothy (Dottie) Louise
Dorothy (Dottie) Sauceda, age 61 passed away peacefully after a long illness with her daughter by her side on Monday January 11, 2021. She was born May 16, 1959 in Austin, Texas to Claude Lane and Joyce Louise Gann.
She graduated from Sidney Lanier High School, and later married the love of her life, her late ex-husband Rogelio (Roy) Delgado Sauceda. She had one daughter, which was her world, Ashley Nicole Sauceda. She also was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church where she was baptized and served on the alter guild. She loved spending time with her family, working and watching Aggie football.
Dottie worked at Townlake Minimax and Crestview Minimax for many years as a meat wrapper and cashier. She then worked for Redeemer Lutheran School and Church as the Food Service Director, which she always said was her favorite job, because she loved feeding all the kiddos going to school. For a few months shy of ten years Dottie worked for the Texas Department of Public Safety in the Driving Records Division as she had become too sick and had to reluctantly stop working.
Dottie became ill with a rare form of dementia called Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. It is an aggressive neurodegenerative disease and is hard to diagnose. After her hard-fought battle with PSP, she went to heaven to be with the Lord and her loved ones who have gone before her.
Dottie is preceded in death by her parents Claude Lane and Joyce Louise Gann and her ex-husband Rogelio (Roy) Sauceda. She is survived by her daughter Ashley Nicole and boyfriend Chris Boucher of Austin, Texas, siblings Claudia Gann of Austin, Texas, Donna Kay Gann-Damore and spouse Greg of Taylor, Texas, Dee Ann Riley and spouse Jim of Round Rock, Texas, David Lane Gann of Austin, Texas; two nephews Jimmie Riley spouse Kearsley of Liberty Hill, David Ryan Riley spouse Meghan of Caldwell, Texas and great nephew Weston Lee of Liberty Hill, Texas.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all the nurses and staff of Kindred Hospice who provided wonderful care to Dottie and the family over the past few weeks.
At this time, there are no services planned. A memorial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to www.psp.org and join them in the effort to cure PSP.
