Nancy Mitchell posted a condolence

Dear Family of Kay!
My name is Nancy Mitchell and I was a close friend of Kay’s for many years in NYC and upstate NY.
I spent many wonderful times with Kay at her cozy apartment in Chelsea with Buster.
She spent many hours making wonderful colorful drawings. Wish I had one to remind me of her! We also went dancing a lot, Kay loved to dance and meet people so was always up for an adventure. Because Kay did not like to cook we went out to dinner a lot in the neighborhood
When I met my future wife Deirdre we spent most summer weekends in the early 2000’s on Kay’s boat “Imagine”, cooking, crewing on short trips or dancing at the Pavilion on Fire Island Pines and Cherry Grove. Kay was always such a happy, thoughtful and caring person. She lit up the room when ever she entered. We miss her and hope she is finally at peace.
Much Love,
Nancy Mitchell and Deirdre O’Brien

Kay and Hannah were next door neighbors to me and my pup, Rosie at The Pavilion at Great Hills in Austin, We sat in the courtyard and drank wine and talked and talked about so many things. The time we were friends was way too short. I loved her and her energy. I miss her every day and I know she will welcome me to Heaven when it's time. I know because she told me!

Kay and I did a lot of boating together on Long Island Sound and out to Martha’s Vineyard, Block Island, the Connecticut coast and Long Island coast. She loved spending time on her boat and at the marina, chilling with friends and having fun.
