Obituary of Nicolas Cortez

Our beloved Nicolas Cortez, age 53, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his loving father, Pedro Cortez; brothers, Graciano Cortez, and Pete Cortez, Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Linda Cortez; children, Ashley Cortez and Nicolas Cortez, Jr.; grandchildren, Nicolas Cortez III, Carlito Cortez, and Jayceon Cortez; mother, Petra Botello; siblings, Pete Cortez, Jr. (Virgie), Janie Zambrano (Eddie), Johnny Cortez, Angie Gil (Tony), and Joe Botello (Valerie); and in-laws, Lupe and Martin Martinez. Nicolas is also survived by numerous other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home, located at 607 E. Anderson Lane, Austin, TX 78752. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Dolores Catholic Church, located at 1111 Montopolis Dr., Austin, TX 78741. Interment will follow at Jones Cemetery.
