Obituary of Christopher E. Politte

Please share a memory of Christopher to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Christopher (“Chris”) E. Politte was born on Valentine’s Day in the year of 1960, fitting for a person loved & admired by all who knew him.  Chris had a natural ability to talk to anyone, a love for adventure & unbound intellectual curiosity.

Chris died on August 17, 2020, the day of his 35th wedding anniversary to loving wife, Jane B. Politte; he leaves behind Jane and three adoring sons, John C. Politte, Jacob B. Politte & Jeb L. Politte.  He was born in Borger, Texas, moving to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, at the age of two; Chris is survived by his parents, Leo L. Politte & Nadine M. Politte, and siblings and their spouses Mark & Sue Politte, Kelly & Mark Meyer, and Timothy & Sandy Politte along with beloved niece & nephews  Marie, Daniel, Ben & Will.

Graduating from the University of Oklahoma in 1982 with a Bachelor of Engineering degree, Chris’ career with Accenture (formerly, Andersen Consulting) took him from Minneapolis to Denver & all parts in between, landing his family next to the Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve in the hills of their adopted hometown of Austin, Texas.

Chris retired in 2007, to spend time with his sons, carefully grooming their interests in Sooner football, Cardinal baseball, the Tour de France, Niki Lauda, gardening, technology, travel, basketball, angry birds, soccer & the list goes on.

Chris’ generosity with friends & family knew no limits.  He was dearly loved by brothers & sisters in law, Steve & Janna Cole, Greg & Janine Wheeler & Clint & Jaquita Corley, & worshipped by nieces & nephews, Jordan, Elaine, Carter, Joe, Liza, Caroline, Claire & Cole.  His infectious love of life & fun earned Chris the name “Mr. Disney.”

He cherished the many friendships he made along the journey as an ATO brother, St. Stephens parent, little league baseball coach, angel investor, caring neighbor & devoted community volunteer.

Turns out, Mr. Disney was God’s valentine gift to all of us.  So many hearts were broken when we lost him.  He will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Liver Foundation or Western Hills Little League (Austin).
