Obituary of Bettye Jo Adair
Our beloved Bettye Jo Adair, age 99, passed away on May 23, 2020.
She was married to Morris Clifford Wood on September 24, 1944 in Freeport Texas at First Methodist Church. They were married for 26 years until Morris’ passing. Bettye later married Weldon Brooks Adair, Sr. on September 15, 1974 at First United Methodist Church in Lake Jackson, Texas. Weldon Passed away December 31, 2009.
She was preceded in death by her sister Rosemary Lois; Son-in-law Pete Lout, Jr.; Grandson John Lout, and Great Granddaughter Rhea Cavitt.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Jo Lout, David Morris Wood and wife, Deborah, Garry Louis Wood and wife, Rachel, Weldon Brooks Adair, Jr. and wife, Belinda S. Adair, and Eileen Laurence and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Travis W. Lout and wife, Hillary, Benjamin Wood and wife, Stacy, Megan Gibbs, Michael Gibbs and wife, Ciacorria, Daniel Wood, Weldon Brooks Adair III and wife, Elizabeth H. Adair, Stephanie A. McLawhorn, Weldon Heath Adair and wife, Josie T. Adair, Heather A. Smith and husband, M. David Smith Jr., Marjorie and husband, Travis, Elizabeth and husband, Brian, and Robert; great grandchildren, Olivia, Kyla, Kaiden, Savannah, Parker, Gracen, Ellisen, Elise, Logan, David, Arianna, Ayden, Dylan, Isabella, Oliver, Lucas, and multiple other loving great grandchildren. Bettye is also survived by numerous other loving family and friends.
Visitation will be held at 12:30 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home, located at 607 E. Anderson Lane, Austin, TX 78752. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020 at Restwood Memorial Park located at 1038 W Plantation Dr, Clute, Texas 77531.
During your viewing, we ask that you observe the Social Distancing Recommendations by avoiding hand shaking or hugging, and by keeping a minimum 6-foot distance from others.
Please be advised that ALL guests must wear some form of face covering upon entry to the funeral home. In addition, guests are NOT permitted to congregate in the parking lot at any time.
