The world needs more Bill Ott’s
We need more Bill Ott’s in this world.
Honest, self-giving, faith-filled, loving.
While many lead lives of gloom and desperation
Bill chose a positive outlook, always ready to strike up
a friendly conversation with anyone.
While many focus on their rights and reparations
Bill saw that duty is inseparable from rights
And so, he chose to serve his country during WWII,
risking his life to save those of his fellow servicemen.
While many have lost their faith,
Bill stayed close to Our Lord to the very end;
a rosary was always at his bedside.
While many choose not to marry or have children,
Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather,
great grandfather, father-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and brother.
Family was everything to Bill.
You see, life is really about choices. Bill made all the right choices
in what really matters: honesty, duty, family, faith, and self-sacrifice.
That’s why we need more salt-of-the-earth people like Bill.
Oh Lord, we thank you for the life of Bill Ott.
Please send us more men and women like him.
