Obituary of Josephine Cerda Bonilla

Our beloved Josephine Cerda Bonilla, age 80, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully at home with her eldest daughter, Hazel, at her side, on  January 26, 2020.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Andrew Bonilla; her parents, Jose “Joe” and Dominga Cerda and brother, Joe “Concho” Cerda.

She is survived by her children: Hazel Bonilla, Peter Anthony Bonilla (Susan), Elizabeth “Lisa” Bonilla Jones (BJ), and Giovani Bonilla (Rebecca); grandchildren: Devin, Nicole, Alaina, Brittney, Chelsea, Drake, Alexa, and Aniya; 4 Great Grandchildren; siblings: John Cerda, Richard Cerda, Lucille Reyes, and Mary Ellen Gallegos. Josephine is also survived by numerous other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with Eulogies and public sharing of memories beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home, located at 607 E. Anderson Lane, Austin, TX 78752. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Austin Peel and Son Funeral Home, located at 607 E. Anderson Lane, Austin, TX 78752. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
