Obituary of Valean Gillispie

Our beloved Valean Gillispie, age 89, of Austin, Texas was called by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 21, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Solomon and Maude McSwain; and children, Melvin Gillispie, Johnny Gillispie, and Billy Ray McSwain.                             

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Tommie Gillispie; children, Tommie “Peanut” Gillispie (Rebecca), Teresa Easter (Bobby), Cathy Gillispie, Deborah Burgess (Larry), and Audrey Cutler; grandchildren, Chris Gillispie, Rosie Gillispie, Larry Burgess, Jr., Danielle Burgess, Terrance Gillispie, Terry Cutler, and Jasmine Cutler; great grandchildson, Alonso Burgess. Valean is also survived by numerous other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019, at Austin-Peel and Son Funeral Home, located at 607 E. Anderson Lane, Austin, Texas 78752. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
