Nola Fay Patterson, 89, of Oakwood, Texas, passed away on Monday November 26th 2018. She was born to parents R.T. Spaw and Bessie Spaw, on May 26th 1929 in Austin, Texas. Nola married James Patterson in 1949. After his death in 1965 she worked hard to raise their 5 children. Nola was a member of the church of Christ in Oakwood, Texas. Her family remembers her frequent admonishment about brotherly kindness. Her greatest goal and achievement was teaching her children to love each other. Above everything, love one another earnestly, because love covers over many sins. (1 Peter 4:8) Nola is survived by Children Janie and Ted Riddle of Catoosa Oklahoma, Lois and William Milstead of Normangee Texas, James Neal Patterson of Huntsville Texas, Betty and Sandy Meyer of Uvalde Texas, Rose and Charles Lyddon of Oakwood Texas, 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, church family and friends. She was preceded in death by R.T. Spaw father, Bessie Spaw mother, James Patterson husband, Tommy Spaw brother, Johnnie Spaw brother, Virginia Kane sister, Nellie Hill sister, and Step-son Blaine Schwab. The family has entrusted AUSTIN-PEEL & SON FUNERAL HOME INC with the arrangements. A celebration of Nola's life is scheduled for Saturday December 1st at 1:30 PM at Austin-Peel & Son followed by Interment at Greenwood Cemetery.
