Obituary of John Samuel Cabillo

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
"Our beloved John S. Cabillo, age 95, was called to our Heavenly Father on September 6, 2018. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patsy Banda, and by his sons-in-law Charles Braniff and Donald Lashomb. John is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 76 years, Manuela, 3 daughters: Mary Huerta, Beatrice Lashomb and Dorothy Braniff, 6 grandchildren: Melissa Curran, Paula Vasquez, Patrick Huerta, Christopher Huerta, Jennifer Huerta and Justin Braniff (Christina), 12 great-grandchildren: Lauren, Lynsey, Selena, Jordan, Zachary Sr., Gianna, Cash, Alissah, Chris, Justin, Jacob, and Eric, 10 great-great-grandchildren: Aubree, Kennday, Adrian, Aaliyah, Avery, Keithen, Messiah, Isaiah, Novah, Zachary Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. John was born and raised in Temple, Texas where he met his beloved Manuela when they were just kids in school. They became school sweethearts and then married. John’s first work was for the railroad lines in Temple. After he and Manuela married, he went to work for J M Boyer, beginning as an apprentice and ultimately becoming a master plumber. Once a master plumber, he moved his family to Austin. He worked for JM Boyer for over 30 years until he retired in the late 1980's. He was a very proud member of Local Union 286 for 65 plus years. Our beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather was a hard working man. His devotion and dedication to his crafted spilled all over Austin as he helped to create the University of Texas (the city within the city) and many other buildings in Austin. Even more devoted and dedicated to his family, family meant everything to him. His wife was the love of his life and his 4 daughters were the apples of his eye. As the grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren came along, his pride and devotion grew and filled his heart more each time. He loved to visit with each of us and always kept us on our toes with his wit. He and Manuela loved to watch football, especially the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns and don’t bother him during the games, it was serious business. ;-) Popo, we love you, will miss you tremendously and you will be forever in our hearts. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., September 12, 2018 with Recitation of Holy Rosary held at 7:00 p.m., Austin-Peel & Son 607 E Anderson Ln., Austin, Texas 78752. Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 p.m., September 13, 2018, at Our Lady of Guadalupe, Temple, Texas. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple with a reception to follow at the church."
